Daily Audio Proverb

Our Tongue
Proverbs 10:19
When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise.

This proverb is an important one for some (if not most). At youth, we may struggle with this. As adults, we should know better. The urge to speak of another's short-comings can be hard to hold back, especially if the goal is to satisfy our own egotistical agendas.

True dat Tony! It's very convicting when Jesus says that we will give an account for every idle word. It makes me want to really choose my words carefully. Many times I miss it, so Thank You Lord for grace, but I want to be in continuous growth in this area!

It is pretty cool that someone brought up this verse! A few weeks ago I came across this verse and thought it was great for me to remember because unfortunately some times I have a tendency to open my mouth and get myself into something I really shouldn't . So I was on bible gateway.com and I was looking at different translation of this very verse. The one I like the best was: Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT. NLT

i find that this now can extend to social networking websites. I am on facebook and linkedIn and of course posting here late at night. Some times it may be good to think before you write something or post a link to your peers. I find tha tI have been second guessing myself on some of my posts (if I wrote too much or my tone sounded desparate, etc) kind of a drag at times. Probably need to heed this advice for my mouth and my posts!
