Daily Audio Proverb

Prov 1:1-2
For January 1 - I liked the words "for discipline". I think I am making that my word for the year, as I read and listen to the Bible again. This is a year that I want to be disciplined, a discipler, and one being discipled, partly because this fulfills the Great Commission-"go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples" (CEV, yes, Lord). I further believe that God has called me to be an internet missionary this year. Is anyone else on board with reading the Bible to be discipled and for discipling others this year?

Love this: "I want to be disciplined, a discipler, and one being discipled, partly because this fulfills the Great Commission-'go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples' (CEV, yes, Lord)."

Indeed! :-)

This is what advancement is all about, brother! I love what you've put forth here! As a matter of being mentored (discipled), let us have that vision of Christ: "fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith...," (Heb. 12:2; NAS). What He shares with us in our apprenticeship under Him will certainly bring about what you are talking about here! "...learn from Me..." (Matt. 11:29a; NIV).

As we move through "reading the Bible to be discipled and for discipling others this year," we know that goodness can come of it, because of what He says about Himself: "You search the Scriptures because you believe they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!" (John 5:39; NLT).

Count me in, Mark! :-)

Praying with you...

Mark I love that you have been given a word for this year through the Proverb. My word is Freedom. I am committed to listening to the Proverb of the day along with DAB and DABK with my kids. Proverbs are amazing. The Proverb today was read in the Message today and the last verses really hit me....

32 'Don't you see what happens, you simpletons, you idiots?
Carelessness kills; complacency is murder.
33 First pay attention to me, and then relax.
Now you can take it easy—you're in good hands."

I have fallen into the idiot category many many times!! I am on board with you Mark. Being disciplined is hard and a very long process, but being refined for Him is good. And as for discipling, well, I will see what God has I guess. I know I am always discipling my kids! But do they listen?? Lol!! I won't be around to see their finished product, but remain hopeful they will walk close with God everyday someday...
Anyway...love the Proverbs, nothing compares to this Wisdom...
Nice to meet you Mark...

Yes, I am not as disciplined as I want to be and I am in an intense situation at work! I need lots and lots of wisdom!

Leslie, I was reading about one mom who had 12 children, and she was so busy and their house was so small that she had her quiet times by putting her apron in front of her face. The children knew that this was a sign that she was having her quiet time and to leave her alone. Her children became preachers and hymn writers. Mrs Wesley? Any way, the hands that rock the cradle rock the world! Plus you can disciple people in Christian community online too.

Calico, thank you for the encouragement. I think if you listen/read the Bible with the intent to be mentored, it will guide you to be a disciple of Jesus!

I have lead a very undisciplined life so being lead by Him requires/offers me a road that is sometimes painful but the end result is life, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost! My word for this year is Trust, Trust Him with my discipling process. He has a plan for me, to prosper me and to give me hope, not to harm me. As I follow His leading he will use me in the Great Commission. As I am discipled/ disciplined, He will use my process to draw others. Humility is so needed, his humility not my own trumped up humility. Its gonna be a blessed year. Thank you for sharing what He's showing you~

Hey mark

How are you going to do this internet ministry? Maybe I can learn from you? I have had an internet ministry for a number of years but it is still small.
