The Long Walk 2010

Long Walk - Guajome Park; Vista, CA
I have been listening to the Daily Audio Bible since 2007. This is my first year taking part in the Long Walk. Took a bunch of pics to share. I read the first 14 chapters of Deuteronomy in the TEV version. So many verses that Moses spoke to the children of Isreal seem to resonate in me at least in that version. In keeping with the spirit of the Long Walk -- reflecting on what God has done for us -- let me share this: "Remember how the Lord your God let you on this long journey through the desert these past forty years, sending hardships to test you, so that he might know what you intended to do and wheather you would obey his commands. He made you go hungry then he gave you manna to eat, food that you and your ancestors had never eaten before. He did this to teach you that you must not depend on bread alone to sustain you. During these forty years your clothes have not worn out nor have your feet swollen up. Remember that the Lord your God corrects and punishes you just as parents discipline their children" Deut 8:2-5 TEV "In the desert he gave you manna to eat, food that your ancestors had never eaten. He sent hardships on you to test you, so that in the end he could bless you with good things." Deut 8:16 TEV
