Thank you. Tom, for your words of encouragement. I am not on the computer on a regular basis and not sure how to navigate through a lot of this "stuff".

The DAB and it's website is really good for many, many people and I realize that. the 2000 voices strong video was awesome. I have seen this before and it is amazing.

I am presently working on a closer walk with God and trying to be the person HE wants me to be and pursue the things HE has in store for me - though I feel a little lost in that journey.

I am married, 26 years, one son who graduated college this last year and moved out of state in pursuit of employment. So after this back surgery and not working any longer - I am seriously questioning what God wants me to do - what avenue do I pursue now. I have worked all my life and feel a bit lost in my way right now.

There you have it ..........

Thanks for you reply and have a blessed day

Hey Kristi,

LOL ok we (or should I say "I") took too long to get back to you... Christmas time, you know; that season where Christians get too busy in the Christmas season to talk to other Christians... :-P

That's wonderful to read of: to see that you want to be the person HE wants you to be; pursuing the things HE has in store for you. Still, I see that you'd written "I feel a little lost in that journey... a bit lost in my way right now." In your first post of 09/29/2011 03:54, you showed your thanks for Brian and the DAB resources, as one way to build on what the Spirit of Christ is doing in you... would it be ok to ask if you have other ways of finding out about the truth of your identity and purpose?

I thought I'd ask about "the means to that end," just to inquire about which ways your heading in, on the journey. Perhaps we can help, with resources and friendships that might assist! :-)

So nice to have heard more, Kristi! We'll try not to delay in our responses next time...

Praying with you,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Well you ask some though provoking questions - it's okay that you asked them - I just wish I had a good firm answer with which to give to you. No - I still "feel a little lost in my journey". I know I need to get myself back into church for the teachings as well as the fellowship. It would be a way to meet new people and make new friends - but those kinds of things are a bit difficult for me, an area in which I struggle. I feel ackward walking into a new church by myself - but I need to get over that because my husband will certainly not go. I could go on, but ........

I think I would like to get back into the working world again - be around people. This staying at home - homemaker stuff - not so good for me. Besides the seclusion is not a good thing - it is a very lonely place. With the physical limitations, I don't know if that will be possible for me - but I think I am going to give it a good try.

Not sure what resources and/or friendships you are referring to, but I am open.

I don't know you - but I am appreciative of you taking the time to answer. Thanks for your prayers.

Hey Kristi!

You'd written "I still 'feel a little lost in my journey.' I know I need to get myself back into church for the teachings as well as the fellowship. It would be a way to meet new people and make new friends - but those kinds of things are a bit difficult for me, an area in which I struggle. I feel ackward walking into a new church by myself - but I need to get over that because my husband will certainly not go." Elizabeth, even if things seem a struggle in that regard, I want to tell you that there are still great things to access in the following resource.

I believe that much of the haziness and lostness that one experiences may have to do simply with "where one is currently at on the map" in their journey with Christ. If one does not KNOW where they are at (this does not mean that they are not a Christian), then that can cause tension, or an unsettled feeling. HOW one "got lost" really doesn't matter so much, at this point. It's not a bad nor a good thing. It simply "is."

Slowing down and standing still for a moment can be a good way of gathering one's bearings. If one knows where one is, then at least they are better able to orient the direction in which they can head in, amen? Slowing down, taking stock, examining one's surroundings can be a way of doing this. Individually speaking, we might all do this, via some sort of devotional inside look. And there are ways of doing that.

If you wish to make use of one of the resources I mentioned, to investigate this, it one can be found in two ways:

Firstly, by clicking on www.themeetinghouse.ca, look for the tab that says "Teaching" at the top of the webpage. Click on that, and then in the list for "2011," look for the teachings from a series called "Inside Out."

This is a six-part series, free for viewing. But there are also a TON of resources to make use of for yourself (and your husband too, if he is willing to - this series will not appear as preachy nor condemning to him, because of the nature of the way the information is laid-out).

You will see next to the audio and video links for each week's teaching that there are also clickable links to notes, and additional resources to view; things that are supplementary videos or .pdfs, to print-off for reading or thinking-on.

Or, secondly, another way to view this is to download the videocast from iTunes, by searching for "The Meeting House Videocast" and then scrolling back to January of 2011 for the series. iTunes will not have the same links to the resources, though. iTunes will only have the .pdf teaching notes (which are still very worth downloading anyway). ;-)

The series description goes like this:

-------------------------------------

"Do you feel stuck in patterns and habits you wish you could change? In this series we will explore the practical steps to how God changes our inner life (our spirit, will, heart, and mind) so we can experience a new outer life through our lifestyle, relationships, and mission. Join us as we pursue what it means to be the best version of ourselves, as we follow Jesus together."

-------------------------------------

Pastor Tim Day makes this interesting. He the teaching with a real practicality to it. I recommend the videos of the teaching over the audio (though the audio is fine) because because of some visual cues and examples he makes use of. They are well worth the watch.

Have a look at it, Kristi. I believe you'll enjoy this quite a bit!

Praying with you,

Tom

* P.S. - You can make friends here, with the sisters and brothers whom you can grow with! :-)

It has been awhile since I was last logged on through a computer.

@ Tom - Just wanted to let you know that I did receive your reply and I am in the process of listening to Pastor Tim Daley - You are right, it is a very good speaker and he puts things in a way that anyone and everyone can understand. I shall continue to listen as times permits and will keep you posted.

@ Heidi - thank you - hope to meet you in a ladies chat

@ Tina - Thank you for taking the time to say hello. You being out of the state of Texas 5 times is more thank I have been out of California. I listen to DAB everyday and it has blessed my life in a lot of ways - however - I am new to the online community and have to navigate my way around the website. Glad to hear you are starting your journey with the DAB community and I am sure you will be blessed as we all have. Wishing you a Happy New Year and feel free to write anytime.
