Tell Us About Yourself and What the DAB Means To You

DAB huge door opener for Christ to work in my life again!
I just wanted to comment. I found the DAB by accident (actually) while searching the net for a One Year Bible audio I could buy and start listening to. Like so many (I'm sure), I have always had a tough time trying to READ my way through. And what a huge blessing this has been!!!! Brian's voice and personality really shine through. When I listen to him, I feel like he's sitting there with me personally. I relate to his easy going, down to earth persona - which really translates into making me all the more open (spiritually) as I listen to the Word. And needless to say, Brian also comes across incredibly articulate, loving and completely committed (to me anyways). I am SO glad I found the DAB and community. THE PRAISE REPORT? - Since, I have completely re-committed my life to the Lord. And even though some of the things I need to change will take a little time, the encouragement and daily dose of God's word I get from the DAB are a huge tool in opening the door of God's guidance and work in my life! So wonderful! I'm sure many of you have the same story to share, which is just awesome! Thanks Brian and family and God bless all of you out there who are seeking the Lord! He loves us so much! And it is so true what Brian says - that if you really go through the entire year in God's word, you will NOT be the same!!! Praise the Lord, ya'll!

Kristen I feel just like you, it was the voice and the humbleness which made me listen to the DAB. Welcome and this is a wonderful place to be.

Thanks, guys for your replies. What a blessing that while we're listening to Brian, we know that millions of people (DAB family) all around the World are tuning in together on that same calander!!

Yes Kristen you said it all, Brian's personality and articulation and persona make the Bible come to life in an intimate way and some of his commentaries just make me weep with conviction for my own failures but it is comforting at the same time a real paradox I guess you could say. It is amazing to think that while each of us are probably alone in our homes or cars or at work when we listen, still we are all there together getting fed by Brian from the Bread of Life the Word of God. I am learning new things everyday as I listen and get to know our Lord even better everyday. God Bless you all.

Heya, Kristen,

Nice to meetcha. :-)

I simply must greet you and respond to your introductory post, because I am intrigued by what you write here, where you've said "I have completely re-committed my life to the Lord. And even though some of the things I need to change will take a little time, the encouragement and daily dose of God's word I get from the DAB are a huge tool in opening the door of God's guidance and work in my life!"

Awesome! In regard to that, I hope to encourage you to move beyond "just listening to DAB" to also peruse through the variety of forums that are here, and simply jump on in with any correspondence that the Spirit may prompt of you. When it comes to "things (we all) need to change," there are discussions and written things that can help all of us along, as we take the year-long journey through God's Word. We would call it "the community hermeneutic" (hermeneutic basically meaning "the art of interpreting"). In this way, you can continue to add your voice to ours, Kristen, letting that voice ring-in among us to join in, and yet all the while still allowing the distinct and unique "sound of you" that you are be made known here.

If you have the time to view it, you might find that this, http://www.ted.com/talks/eric_whitacre_a_virtual_choir_2_000_voices_strong.html, gives you a resonant illustration of what DAB can be all about... you'll LOVE how this turns out...

;-)

Welcome, Kristen,

Tom
